Marliant represents a product range specifically designed to overcome today's challenge of securing the uninterrupted availability of computer applications on sea-going vessels or off-shore installations.
This new product range answers to the need of ship owners, vessel management companies and off-shore installations as well as their crews for a reliable, secure and cost-effective (multi-user) Windows platforms with unconditional and uninterrupted availability at all times, easily deployed and maintained, and suitable for both ‘retrofits' as well as newly build vessels.
The system consists of an autonomous ‘single-cabinet' server with integrated interruptible power supplies, data switches and (RAID) data storage and is completed with low-cost thin-clients replacing PC's throughout the vessel. A standardized modular approach serves to unify spares to be readily available at all major ports of call along the major shipping routes. NetWave's extensive service-network with more than 300 trained engineers in more than 100 ports secures lowest cost maintenance and support.
This non-stop, fully redundant, solution provides a highly cost effective standardized system which can be remotely updated with the latest anti-virus software by making use of NetWave's IT Fleet Management solution (ad-hoc over HSDPA low cost links) whereby the ship's Satcom system merely serves as the backup for out-of-range updates or repairs.
This, NetWave's proprietary Supervisor technology, allows full remote monitoring and control of all hard- and software, which, in conjunction with the standardized operating system images readily available for deployment for various types of vessels and operating environments, provides the most cost effective solution for a complete shipboard IT environment.
MarLiant fully covers ship owners' challenges of implementing and maintaining a performant high-availability multi-user system within a secured environment protected against crew tampering, malware and viruses. At introduction, NetWave has received extensive orders from leading ship owners to be deployed form September onwards.
