European Biogas Association announces biannual conference

The programme of the second biogas conference will include a broad range of topics, from production to utilization of biogas including policy aspects. There will be plenty of room for networking between representatives from research, industry and production. "As the first conference was organized in Eastern Europe, we have now chosen a Western biogas country. Topics are aligned with the interests of the host country. There will be parallel sessions on biomethane production and utilization, as well as cross-border trade. New findings on crop production and pre-treatment, digestate utilization and upgrade will frame the biogas event", according to EBA President Arthur Wellinger.

The event will be co-hosted by Energy Valley and NL Agency: "Their commitment helps us to broaden and strengthen the event in view of promotion of the technology in Holland. The two-day conference will be followed by a study tour with visits to a number of biogas plants in the Amsterdam area using different technologies previously discussed in the lectures."

Feedback from participants of the 2012 conference showed that they benefited in particular from the excellent networking opportunities. Jan Stambasky, President of the Organizational Committee: "Also this time we will stimulate and encourage informal contacts. There will be a small exhibition and a poster session. We welcome not only company representatives but also universities, research institutes and students."

The conference fee is set at € 450 (excluding VAT), with an attractive early bird fee of € 390, including conference dinner, lunch and coffee during breaks. Students and members of the EBA Company Advisory Council are entitled to a reduced entrance fee. Details on the venue, poster application and registration can be found on the conference website http://www.biogasconference.eu/.
